Step 5: Click 'OK'

After completing the search process, a window named Licence Notice will appear on the screen. To progress further, you need to accept the terms of the license. To do that, select the "I agree to this License Notice for all future Packages. Do not show me this License Notice again" option. Then click 'OK' from the bottom right corner. By doing this, you agree with the terms and conditions of the company's policy.

Step 6: Review each tab and select the needed updates.

There are four different kinds of options available there. Select each one and do the required Update. The different types of options are as follows---

  1. Critical Updates – These are the kinds of Updates that are very critical. These updates must be done in any way, as the name suggests. So, click this option and install every opportunity that was present there.

  2. Recommended Updates – As the name suggests, the Lenovo Company recommends these updates. So, review these updates and install them one by one.

  3. Optional Updates – As the name suggests, these are the optional updates. These are not mandatory. If you can update and install them, this will be great. If you do not install the updated pack, then no problem.

  4. Extras - This contains options for your system type. It can include both accessories and software. You can also review these options to update them.

But, update the Critical and recommended options and only then go for optional and extras.

Step 7: Defer Installation

The defer installation option will allow your Laptop only to download the updated pack, but it will not be installed on your Laptop.

 

  1. Then, you have to click on the Updates tab.

  2. Then, expand the window by clicking the arrow. You Can also click the expand all button to view the driver details.

  3. Then, you can check the defer installation box.

  4. Then you have to click 'Next'.

  5. After that, click Download.

  6. After clicking the Download, the download process will be started, and after the completion of the download process, click the installed 'Deferred Update link.' This link will be situated on the menu, which is located on the left side of the windows.

  8. Then click Next and finally click Install.

Warning: Lenovo System Updates can include firmware updates. Firmware updates mustn't be prevented.
