Accessing The About Windows Box:

Accessing your Windows box can get the essential information about your operating system.

  • Launch the Run dialog box program with your keyboard by pressing the Windows key + R on your keyboard.

  • Once the Run dialog box opens, type winter and click OK.

  • The About Windows box will pop out. On the second line, you will see the OS built and the version of your Windows. The fourth line will tell you the edition of your Windows laptop.

Opening The System Properties Windows:

You can also access the System Properties window and use it to find out which version of Windows is installed on your computer. These steps vary depending on the OS type you have. Here are the instructions:

Windows 10:

  • On your keyboard, press the Windows key + S.

  • Now, type “This PC” (no quotes).

  • Right-click This PC from the search results, then select properties from the options.

Windows 8.1:

  • Press the Windows key on your keyboard.

  • Go to your taskbar and click the Windows icon.

  • You will see your service pack, edition, and the system type of your Windows 7 OS in the pop-up windows.

  • Launch the Run dialog box program by pressing the Windows key + R on your keyboard.

  • Inside the Run dialog box, type “msinfo32.exe”, then hit enter.

  • You will see the System information window. It will contain the details of your Windows laptop’s operating system.
