When you copy or cut something (such as a paragraph of text, an image, or a website link), Windows temporarily stores the data or the text in a memory location called the Clipboard. It Acts like a temporary holding pen. When you Paste the info. You copied, Windows stores the Clipboard's contents and puts it where you want it to go.

Follow these steps to copy and paste text on Windows or Mac:
Select the content you want to copy by left-clicking and dragging it over the text. You can also hold down a shift key and then use the arrow keys to select the text you want to cut or copy.

The other option is to select the text, right-click the selected content, and then select Copy. To paste, right-click where you want to paste your copied text and choose Paste. For folders, files, and images, right-click the content (no need to be determined) and select Copy. To paste, place the cursor where you want to paste the copied content, then right-click and choose Paste. To copy multiple files in a folder at once, then left-click and drag a selection box around what you want to copy, then right-click on a selected item and click Copy. Hold down Shift as you make your selection process to choose multiple files, then right-click and select Copy.

Not all programs and web pages allow you to copy text or other content from their website. Some apps intentionally stop users from copying anything. Google Chrome has an extension called Enable Copy, which will let you copy on restricted web pages.
On the other hand, some apps might use a different keyboard shortcut, or there may be an option to copy and paste in one of the app's menus. To erase the copied text from your Clipboard, copy something new. Simply copying any word on a web page, do, document, or program will replace the text or image or any URL of the Clipboard with whatever you just copied. You might want to do this after copying sensitive information like a password or credit card number, ensuring you won't accidentally paste it into another program or application.
If you want to clear the data in your Clipboard History, you can do it manually by wiping it off yourself. Open Computer's Settings on your Windows 10 or 11 computer, then click on System > Clipboard. Then click the "Clear Clipboard Data" section and the "Clear" button.
