 Put the mouse pointer where you want to insert an “Apostrophe”.

 Press the Apostrophe sign key present in the bottom right corner of your laptop.

Produce Smart Quotations in Microsoft Word:

To manually fit smart quotations, the keyboard must have a numeric keypad. The Num Lock key must be actuated. To employ the numeric canons, press and hold the Alt key, also class the four- number keypad.

Use ALT + 0145 and ALT + 0146 for the left and right single citation mark or apostrophe, independently. 

Use ALT + 0147 and ALT + 0148 for the left and right double citation marks, independently.  

Note – Use the numeric keypad and not the row of figures above the ABC. The top number row doesn’t work for this process.
